Theme Notes Series 290: Let’s Pretend Play School’s series ‘Let’s pretend’ aims to nurture the imagination, creativity and a sense of wonder. Imaginative play not only provides enjoyment to young children, but it also helps them understand the real world and their place in it. It can also help them learn about experiences and people they may not directly come into contact with. Language, social and cognitive ability are also developed through imaginative play. A strong sense of imagination and creativity assists children become confident problem solvers. Drawn an eye on fish shape. Take a coloured piece of wool and wrap it around and around the fish so that it slips into the slit to stop wool from slipping off. Use many colours to make a colourful woolly rainbow fish.  MAKE AND DO How to Make a Seaside with Play Dough You will need: - Green dough - Brown dough - Yellow dough - Blue dough - Craft dog, dog owner, seagull, horse, person on bike. Make a craft horse, seagull, bike rider, dog and dog owner. Make these from any materials for example drawings, pipe cleaners, ice cream sticks, cardboard cylinders and paper. Make a play dough seaside. Green dough will be the grassy park at the seaside. A brown path can be made by winding the brown dough over the green dough. This is for the bike rider, dog owner and the dog to walk on. Yellow dough will be placed next to green play dough grass for the sand. Next, a blue sea will be made with the blue play dough. Put as many characters at the play dough seaside as you wish. A horse galloping, seagulls resting, a dog and owner walking.
