Hess: The Deputy

Profile of Rudolf Hess, Hitler's deputy and most loyal supporter, who was at the centre of an international scandal in 1941 when he flew to Scotland on a secret mission to negotiate a peace agreement between Britain and Germany. After the war, he was tried at Nuremberg and served his sentence at Spandau prison, where he allegedly committed suicide.
