A woman hires Shade and Angie to find a romance scam artist who possibily targeted her mother, drained her bank, and killed her. The detectives track the suspect to Tofino, Canada's premier surfing destination, where they go undercover to extract a confession. Meanwhile, Will has the impossible task of making sure Declan doesn't take his first steps without his parents there to see it.
