64 million people, from Indiana to New England, are at risk for severe storms tonight. Heavy rain and strong winds collapsed a tent at a college baseball game in West Virginia Saturday, and authorities in Texas say at least nine people had to be rescued or evacuated after flash flooding. NBC News' Aaron Gilchrist reports.The U.S. launched new strikes on Iranian sites after Iranian strikes on ships traveling through the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. allies in the Gulf region. The new attacks could challenge the fragile ceasefire between the two countries and come despite President Trump saying a peace deal could be made this weekend. NBC News' Matt Bradley has the latest from the Middle East. Dallas police released videos of a suspect who managed to get out of handcuffs and leap behind the wheel of a police car. The 37-year-old suspect drove off with an officer inside, according to police. NBC News' Valerie Castro reports. At a rally with supporters, Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner spoke out to defend his past after appearing to address new allegations made against him by three women who spoke with the New York Times. Some voters said they are sticking with Platner despite the controversy. NBC News' Monica Alba reports. NBC News projects that Democratic candidate for Governor Xavier Becerra will advance to the November runoff, but it remains to be seen whether his challenger will be Republican political commentator Steve Hilton or Democratic billionaire Tom Steyer. And in Los Angeles, the race to challenge incumbent Mayor Karen Bass also remains too close to call. Millions of ballots still need to be counted. NBC News' Liz Kreutz has the latest. With the World Cup tournament set to officially begin in just a few days across North America, NBC News' Jesse Kirsch takes a look at the major players who many expect could dominate the tournament. In Texas, the 2026 graduating class at Mansfield Summit High School decided to perform a major act of kindness for the school's principal, Jason Mutterer. Mutterer has made it his mission to write nearly 500 personalized letters to each graduating student. But this year, every student decided to return the favor.
