President Trump appeared to reject Iran's response to the latest U.S. peace proposal to end the war, calling the Iranian demands "totally unacceptable." Iranian state media reported the response focuses on opening the Strait of Hormuz and ending the war, but does not mention nuclear weapons. NBC News' Molly Hunter reports. The Americans evacuated from the deadly hantavirus cruise ship are on their way to the Nebraska Medical Center's state of the art National Quarantine Unit. It is unclear how many of the Americans, who are all asymptomatic, will end up staying there and for how long. NBC News' Camila Bernal has the latest. Dangerous storms are bringing hazardous weather to parts of the Southeast. In Oklahoma, hail, some as big as baseballs, slammed onto roofs and dented cars. In North Carolina, the National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down. Meanwhile, California and Arizona baked in triple digit heat. NBC News' Kathy Park reports. A Texas man accused of murdering his pregnant wife will appear in an Italian courtroom as a judge decides whether to extradite him back to the U.S. According to a federal complaint, the man cut off his ankle monitor and fled to Milan where he was detained by Italian authorities with a fake Belgian passport. NBC News' Valerie Castro reports. At Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois, the nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit are experiencing a remarkable baby boom, with at least 20 nurses recently giving birth or expecting to have a baby soon. To celebrate Mother's Day, many of those nurses have heartwarming messages for their colleagues. NBC News' Hallie Jackson has the story.
