Kuzya, for the sake of the report, embellishes the state of affairs and, having twisted himself out with the help of cunning with "foreign" cows, gets approval from above and a promise of subsidies. Vorka, out of jealousy, sends Dasha to the forest, but after a dangerous meeting with a she-wolf and the disappearance of her son, realizes her mistake, makes peace with Dasha and accepts her relationship with Kuzya.
