However, a businessman named Boris Ilyich (played by Anatoly Kot) appears and offers to buy the collective farm's land for the construction of a toll road. Kuzya refuses, unaware that Dasha is Boris Ilyich's daughter. Vera notices that Dasha has a clear crush on Kuzya, and she becomes jealous.
