Tatyana Volkova and her friend Lenka accidentally meet their former classmate and now famous theater actress Anna Zorina in the market. Due to some circumstances, she left Moscow and became the prima of the local theater. Zorina invites the girls to the performance. However, instead of a comedy, an unpleasant surprise awaits Volkov - Zorina is poisoned. And Volkova herself and Lenka were detained for unauthorized participation in the case. Volkova's friend, investigator Kirsanov, helps them out, and the restless Tatyana takes on an investigation, during which she realizes how ruthless and cruel the art world is.
