<i>The Itchy and Scratchy Show</i> faces a crisis of quality when the ratings show a slight drop-off and Bart and Lisa don't find it that interesting to watch anymore. To save the show, Roger Meyers and his crew come up with a new character: Poochie the Dog, and hire Homer Simpson as the character's voice artist. But when everyone sees through this marketing ploy, <i>The Itchy and Scratchy Show</i> is hated even more and Homer must do something to save the character and the show.
