The Challenge

Treville and Richelieu wager on which of their champions can prove triumphant in a trial by combat. D'Artagnan seeks the honor, hoping to earn his commission, but Treville takes part instead when he discovers that Richelieu's champion is the intendant who burned D'Artagnan's farm to the ground. Meanwhile, Porthos falls in love with a rich widow, and Bonacieux discovers Constance's affair with D'Artagnan.
